The stage is set for the fourth round of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) Series, set to commence at the picturesque Muthaiga Golf Club this morning.

Leading the charge is Norwegian international Haland Sigmund, spearheading a contingent of 23 foreign golfers hailing from six different nations. Among them, Evans David and James Wass from Great Britain are poised to give a tough challenge to their competitors.

Joining the European trio are Indian players Sharma Kushagra and Thacker Mitansh, adding an international flair to the tournament.

With the prestigious title up for grabs, all participants, including 141 top Kenyan golfers, are eager to accumulate valuable points ahead of the 2025 Magical Kenya Open and the Kenya One title race slated for December.

In a bid to promote gender equality on the greens, nine talented ladies are set to showcase their skills alongside their male counterparts, vying for a share of the lucrative Sh350,000 prize pool.

Moreover, the event serves as a crucial qualifying series for both the Kenya amateur and world amateur rankings, further intensifying the competition.

Action kicks off with Haland Sigmund teeing off at 11:50 am, accompanied by Mombasa’s Walji Miqdaad and Ugandan Andrew Ssekibejja. Meanwhile, Evans will tee off bright and early at 7:00 am alongside Nyahururu’s Ian Maigua and Sigona’s Soni Tsevi.

Wass will follow suit at 7:40 am, partnering with Indian Sharma Kushagra and Nyali’s William Odeck. Mitansh, another Indian contender, will tee off at 7:50 am, joined by Ugandan Joseph Cwinyaai and Geoffrey Opiyo of Royal, Nairobi.

A strong representation from Uganda includes Joseph Akena, Amon Bwambale, Abdul Kakeeto, Emmanuel Moko, Cosmas Ociti, Elton Thembo, Joseph Kasozi, Michael Tumusiime, and Titus Okwong.

Tanzania is also well-represented with four players, including Ali Isaanzu, George Sembi, Ibrahim Mtemi, and Isiaka Dunia. Rwanda, on the other hand, will be represented by Didas Ndindabahisi and Felix Dusabe, adding an East African flavor to the international lineup.
