Gor Mahia captain Philemon Otieno expresses the team’s determination to maintain their unbeaten streak as they face Posta Rangers in a crucial Football Kenya Federation (FKF) league encounter at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

Otieno acknowledges the challenge presented by Posta Rangers but remains optimistic about securing a positive start to the year. The skipper dismisses claims of pressure, emphasizing the team’s focus on taking one game at a time and securing positive results.

A potential victory on Sunday would extend Gor Mahia’s lead, opening an eight-point gap over Posta Rangers in second place. However, a loss could narrow the gap to just two points.

In another notable fixture, AFC Leopards aims to improve their position as they host Ulinzi Stars at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday. Placed 14th on the log, a win could propel Leopards past Ulinzi, who currently sits 12th with 17 points.

Simultaneously, third-placed KCB welcomes Tusker FC at Police Sacco Stadium. Tusker, unbeaten in their last six fixtures, aims to climb the standings, potentially surpassing KCB, who holds the third spot on goal difference alongside Kakamega Homeboyz and Bandari.

Additional matchups include Kakamega Homeboyz facing Police at Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday, and Shabana hosting Muhoroni Youth at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay on the same day.
