Champions Gor Mahia faced a resilient Nzoia Sugar, settling for a 2-2 draw on Saturday at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.

Meanwhile, Ulinzi Stars also relinquished points in a one-all draw against Murang’a Seals at St Sebastien Park.

In other fixtures, Nairobi City Stars showcased their prowess by defeating Bandari 1-0, while KCB and Talanta played to a goalless draw at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.

Gor Mahia had to endure a challenging match at the Raila Odinga Stadium, where Nzoia Sugar struck twice in the first half, leaving the Green Army in shock.

Joseph Oyugi orchestrated the play to set up Barisa Mohamed for Nzoia’s opener in the 10th minute, and Mohamed completed his brace in the 31st minute. However, Gor Mahia regrouped, taking the game to their opponents, with Patrick Kaddu scoring just before the break, narrowing the deficit to 1-2.

Gor’s lead striker, Benson Omalla, then leveled the scores from the penalty spot in the 59th minute, resulting in a shared outcome.

In the clash at St Sebastien, Ulinzi took the lead through Mark Bikokwa, who converted Ben Stanley’s corner, but Awita Batts equalized for Murang’a Seals with 11 minutes left.

At the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi, Robinson Asenwa scored the crucial goal for Nairobi City Stars.

Despite the draw, Gor Mahia maintains their top position on the table with 28 points from 14 matches, holding a three-point lead over second-placed Posta Rangers, who have a game in hand.
