The race for the FKF Premier League title took another thrilling twist as Gor Mahia secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars, reclaiming the top spot.

Meanwhile, Tusker FC suffered a setback with a 2-1 defeat against Wazito in Muhoroni.

Gor Mahia started the match in a formidable fashion, quickly asserting their dominance over Ulinzi Stars. John Macharia and Austin Odhiambo fired two goals within nine minutes of the first half, leaving their opponents reeling.

At ‘Got Alila’ in Muhoroni, Robert Matano’s Tusker side experienced the challenging atmosphere of Muhoroni Stadium as they fell behind in the first half due to a goal by Collins Neto.

Despite a spirited comeback with Charles Momanyi’s equalizer in the second half, Wazito struck back with a late penalty converted by Neto, securing a 2-1 victory.

At the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, the news of Tusker’s defeat brought joy to the Gor Mahia faithful, who passionately cheered their team on. With these results, Gor Mahia now leads the league table with 67 points, two ahead of second-placed Tusker.

In other matches, Vihiga Bullets, the bottom-placed team, caused an upset by defeating AFC Leopards 2-1, while Mathare United’s relegation worries worsened with a 1-0 loss to Kakamega Homeboyz.

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bidco FC, and Elvis Rupia continued his pursuit of the golden boot by scoring twice in Kenya Police’s convincing 3-1 win over Posta Rangers.
