Defending champions General Service Unit (GSU) continued their unbeaten run in the men’s Kenya Volleyball Federation League with a 3-1 win over Kenya Army on Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
GSU dominated the first and second sets, winning 25-19 and 25-16 respectively, but suffered a 25-23 loss in the third set due to poor reception.
The team recovered in the fourth set, winning 25-21 to secure the victory.
Head coach Gideon Tarrus praised his players for their performance but urged them to remain focused on upcoming fixtures.
In another match, KDF beat Nairobi Prisons 3-0 in a thrilling encounter. Despite Nairobi Prisons leading the first set by 21-16, KDF emerged victorious with a score of 34-32. KDF then won the second and third sets 25-22 and 25-19 respectively.
Head coach Elisha Aliwa was pleased with his team’s performance and urged them to maintain their momentum as they target the playoffs.
Kenya Prisons currently tops the league table with 27 points, followed by KDF with 25 points, and GSU in third place with 24 points.
