Hamza Anwar Aims for Junior Championship in Estonia
The FIA World Rally Championship is set to return to Europe from July 20th to 23rd following the successful WRC Safari Rally last month.
Kenyan rising star, Hamza Anwar, will be competing on the global stage in the junior category alongside his navigator, Din Adnan, as they strive for championship glory in the junior WRC category at Rally Estonia.
At just 24 years old, Anwar began the safari rally championship in Naivasha with a strong performance but unfortunately had to retire on the second day due to three punctures. As he gears up for another international rally, driving a Ford Fiesta, Anwar has accumulated 18 points so far from three rallies, ranking 8th in the junior category.
He earned 4 points in his debut at the Rally in Sweden in February, followed by 10 points from the rally in Croatia where he finished fourth in the category. An additional four points were gained from the WRC rally in Sardegna, making Rally Estonia his fourth appearance.
Estonia will be hosting the WRC for the fourth time, and fans are eagerly watching out for Finnish driver Kalle Rovanpera in his Toyota GR Yaris. Rovanpera made history in 2022 as the youngest WRC rally winner by securing victory in Estonia.
After finishing second behind teammate Sebastian Ogier in Naivasha, Rovanpera faces tough competition from teammate Elfyn Evans as they vie for victory once again.
All eyes will be on Hamza Anwar as he aims to make his mark and seize the championship title in the junior category at Rally Estonia.
