The national women’s football team, Harambee Starlets, has initiated preparations for their upcoming 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Cameroon.
Currently, 16 players have joined the camp, while the remainder of the squad is anticipated to arrive later in the week.
The team is scheduled to depart for Cameroon on September 20, ahead of their first-leg match on September 22 in Yaoundé.
Following this match, Starlets will return home the next day, preparing for their second-leg match on September 26.
Should they advance as the aggregate winners, they will face either Gabon or Botswana in the second round, which is slated for November 27 to December 5, 2023.
The winner of this second round will secure automatic qualification for the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, hosted in Morocco.
