Harambee Starlets Head to Turkey for Four-Nation Invitational Tournament
The national women’s football team, Harambee Starlets, has departed for Antalya, Turkey, to participate in a four-nation invitational tournament.
The event will run for a week, starting this Wednesday, marking the team’s return to international play since their defeat to Botswana in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on December 5, 2023.
Head coach Beldine Odemba has selected a squad primarily consisting of locally-based players for this tournament. The Starlets are set to kick off their series of friendly matches against Chinese Taipei on Wednesday. They will then face Russia on Saturday before wrapping up their campaign against the Philippines next Wednesday.
