Harambee Stars advanced to the final of the Four Nations Tournament with a resounding 4-0 win over hosts Malawi in a commanding display at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Michael Olunga set the pace with a swift goal in the opening minute, catching the home crowd off-guard. He didn’t let up, doubling the lead by the fourth minute, leaving the Malawian team reeling. Despite the damp conditions, the first half saw the Stars maintain their lead, heading into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

The second half was more evenly matched, with Malawi striving to make an impression. However, their hopes were dashed when Patrick Matasi, the Stars’ goalkeeper, saved a penalty in the 70th minute, preserving the clean sheet.

The Stars continued their offensive, with Ayub Timbe extending the lead to 3-0 in the 82nd minute. As the match neared its end, John Avire sealed the victory with a stunning long-range goal, confirming the Stars’ spot in the final.

The Stars are now set to face Zimbabwe, who secured their place in the final after a nail-biting penalty shootout win over Zambia, following a 2-2 draw in regular time. The final match is eagerly anticipated this Tuesday.
