The renowned par-72 Kakamega golf course is preparing to welcome a record field of 150 players on May 27 for the highly anticipated fifth leg of the 2023 KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

Beginning at 6:30 am, the event will showcase the talents of both Kakamega Golf Club members and guest players from across the country.

Participants will fiercely compete for the opportunity to join the winning teams from Vetlab, Eldoret, Limuru, and Railways Golf Clubs, as they advance to the grand finale scheduled for November at the prestigious Karen Country Club.

James Anzabwa, the Captain of Kakamega Golf Club, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “We are honoured to host the fifth leg this Saturday. The event has generated immense interest among golf enthusiasts.”

Anzabwa further highlighted that recent rainfall in the area has contributed to the course being in excellent condition, setting the stage for a highly competitive and entertaining tournament.

Following the main event, two golf clinics will be held at the same venue on Sunday, specifically tailored for lady golfers and junior players. These clinics aim to expand the list of participants, which has already reached an impressive count of 300 across the four preceding legs.

Rosalind Gichuru, the Director of Marketing and Communication at KCB Group, expressed her excitement over the success of the first four legs of the tour and eagerly anticipates crowning the next set of winners in Western Kenya
