Kanbis A captain, Dhiren Gondaria, commended openers Pushpak Kerai and Narendra Patel for their stellar performance as the team clinched a second consecutive victory in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) Twenty20 League.

Dhiren, contributing with a half-century, led Kanbis A to a 6-wicket win against hosts Sikh Union. Pushpak secured the third-highest run-scorer position with 40 runs, while Patel, also known as Nandu, added 21 runs.

Despite a positive first innings comeback, Dhiren expressed concern about the last wicket yielding over 40 runs. He praised the openers for dominating in the power play and successfully chasing the target in under 15 overs. However, he emphasized the need to improve fielding after dropping a few catches.

Sikh Union, opting to bat first, was bowled out for 145 in 19.3 overs. In response, Kanbis reached 145 for four in 15.1 overs, securing their second consecutive win.

In another T20 match, Stray Lions claimed their second straight victory with a 27-run win against Shree Cutchi Leva Patel Samaj (SCLPS YL A) at Nairobi Jaffery’s. Stray Lions scored 104-3 with Bhagath Varma anchoring the innings with 35 off 24 balls.

Ruaraka, led by captain Nitish Hirani, had an impressive start with openers Chandresh Hirani and Pushkar Sharma, reaching notable scores of 28 and 46, respectively.

Ruaraka secured victory despite some batting setbacks, with Sachin acknowledging the impact of the absence of pros Maxwell Swaminathan and Anjinkia Beloshe on their batting lineup and bowling. Sachin sees this as an opportunity for local players to establish themselves for the upcoming season.
