Karan Patel Bags SJAK’s November Player of the Month
In a triumphant achievement, Karan Patel, the African Rally Championship winner, has been honored as the SJAK Sports Personality of November.
The Nairobi-based driver and Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer secured the ARC title in Tanzania the previous month, marking his second time clinching the SJAK award, with his first triumph in October 2022 coinciding with his maiden Kenya National Rally Championship title.
During the November selection, Patel outshone competitors, including Kenya’s top-ranked golfer Michael Karanga and 58-year-old athlete Priscillah Biwott, who triumphed in the 5000m race at the 14th Africa Masters Athletics Championships in Pretoria, South Africa.
Karanga, breaking a 23-year-old course record, won the Manchester Salver tournament at Eldoret Golf Club, finishing second in a field that included 30 professionals and 40 amateurs in a Pro-Am competition at Kiambu Golf Club.
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Patel expressed gratitude and emphasized the significance of winning the FIA African Rally Championship. He acknowledged the tireless effort he and Tauseef Khan put into achieving this milestone, highlighting the honor of being mentioned alongside Kenyan rallying legends. Patel was awarded Sh 101,000 and a washing machine for his exceptional performances in November.
Changh-Yun Kim, LG Electronics EA Marketing Director, congratulated Karan Patel for his title success, emphasizing LG’s commitment to rewarding excellence across all sports.
SJAK treasurer Mukami Wambora praised the partnership between LG and SJAK, noting its motivational impact on sportsmen and women in realizing their dreams.
LG Electronics has been a consistent supporter of sports in the country for the past eight years, with a commitment to recognizing individuals at all levels and fostering sports development at the grassroots.
