KCB RFC secured a hard-fought victory against Nakuru RFC with a 20-12 scoreline during matchday seven of Kenya Cup action at the Nakuru Athletics Club on Saturday.
Nakuru took an early lead, and KCB fought back, with tries from Andy Cole and Brian Wahinya contributing to their narrow 8-7 lead at halftime.
KCB’s Darwin Mukidza added a penalty to extend their lead before Wahinya’s impressive second-half try sealed the victory. In other matches, Kabras Sugar dominated Strathmore Leos with an 88-3 win, Catholic Monks defeated Homeboyz RFC 27-17, and Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad secured a crucial 9-3 victory against Kenya Harlequin.
KCB’s assistant coach, Dennis Mwanja, acknowledged the team’s mistakes but emphasized the importance of the win as they prepare for their next match against Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad on February 3, 2024.
