KCB to Confront Pipeline After Thrashing Uganda’s KAVC, DCI in Eldoret Volleyball Tourney

Volleyball champions KCB are set to clash with rivals Kenya Pipeline In the ongoing Eldoret City Volleyball Tournament at the Eldoret National Polytechnic on Sunday morning.

Having secured two victories on Saturday, KCB triumphed over Uganda’s KAVC with a convincing 3-0 win in sets of 25-9, 25-11, and 25-3. They also dominated against DCI, sealing the victory with sets of 26-24, 25-17, and 25-21.

Looking ahead to Sunday’s crucial match, head coach Japheth Munala urged his players to maintain focus. “We have a significant game against Kenya Pipeline tomorrow. We must approach it carefully to secure a win before the knockout stages. Today’s matches were commendable, and I applaud the girls for their hard work and fighting spirit. We are full of confidence heading into tomorrow’s fixtures,” Coach Munala stated.

In the first match against KAVC, Munala rested star players such as Mercy Moim, Edith Wisa, Lincy Jeruto, Esther Mutinda, Juliana Namutira, and Shirleen Maiywa.

Instead, he provided opportunities to young talents like Pauline Chemutai, Faith Cherotich, Sheilah Wabwile, Josphine Nekesa, and Mariam Musa, who rewarded their coach with a significant victory.

The tournament, featuring over 100 teams from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, is a fiercely contested event organized by the Kenya Volleyball Federation and the Paul Bitok Foundation, with teams vying for top honors.
