KCB’s women’s volleyball team is set to defend their African Clubs Champions title in Tunisia despite not having last year’s Most Valuable Player, Sharon Chepchumba, who is playing for Aris Hessaloniki in Greece.

However, 18-year-old Pauline Chemutai is confident that she can fill the gap left by Chepchumba. Chemutai is one of four rookies in the 14-member squad named by coach Japheth Munala.

Munala is relying on experienced players, such as opposite attacker Mercy Moim and middle blocker and captain Edith Wisa, to lead the team to victory.

The team is relatively young, but Munala is hoping that the rookies will step up and make an impact. The tournament starts on May 12th and runs until May 22nd.
