Elisha Aliwa, the head coach of Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), remains determined as his team prepares to face defending champions General Service Unit (GSU) in the post-season playoffs.
Despite suffering a defeat against GSU in their recent encounter, KDF is fully committed to dethroning them and clinching the title.
Concluding their regular season with a disappointing 3-1 loss to GSU, KDF acknowledges their weaknesses and aims to address them before the playoffs.
One area of concern has been their serving, which played a significant role in their struggles during the regular season.
During the match against GSU, KDF managed to force an extra play in the third set, securing a narrow win to extend the game to a fourth set.
However, their poor service delivery proved costly, leading to their downfall against the formidable paramilitary team.
“Our game was affected by numerous serves going out of bounds. We need to work on our service technique to enhance our performance in the playoffs,” highlighted Aliwa, acknowledging the need for improvement.
Aliwa also expressed his view that this season’s league has been highly competitive, with every game posing a challenge due to the elevated level of play.
As KDF aims to dethrone GSU, they face an uphill battle after suffering three losses to KPA and Kenya Prisons, who finished as the top two seeds, respectively.
Currently occupying the third position on the league table with 36 points, on par with Kenya Prisons but with an inferior set difference, KDF eagerly awaits the outcome of the matches involving Equity Bank and KPA to determine their final opponent in the climactic finale of the league.
