The countdown is on for the 2024 WRC Safari Rally Kenya, a highlight on the FIA World Rally Championship calendar, set to take place from March 28 to 31 in the scenic town of Naivasha. Fans worldwide are bracing for a spectacle of high-octane racing and intense competition.
A roster of 29 elite drivers from around the globe has heightened the excitement for this storied rally. Among the early arrivals is M-Sport Ford’s Adrien Fourmax, who is acclimatizing to Kenya’s warm climate and unique landscape; a stark contrast to his French homeland.
Fourmax shared his enthusiasm, “Adjusting to Kenya’s heat is my first task, and the landscape here is a delightful shock. It’s a tough rally, particularly for the vehicles, but we’re aiming to rack up significant points in WRC2.”
Thierry Neuville of the Hyundai Shell Mobis team, currently leading the championship, is also gearing up for the event.
“We’re off to a strong start this season and are eager to face the unique challenges of the Safari Rally, which promises to be an adventure unlike any other rally,” Neuville said.
Elfyn Evans, noted for his cool approach, highlighted the importance of preparation, stating, “We aim to strike the right balance between being well-prepared and staying relaxed.”
The Safari Rally Kenya, known for its rigorous course and demanding conditions, is set to continue its legacy as one of the most challenging events in the rally world. With the Service Park already established, the stage is set for an unforgettable racing experience.
As the third round of the 2024 World Rally Championships, following the Rallye Monte and Rally Sweden, the Safari Rally Kenya is not just a test of skill but a testament to the enduring spirit of motorsports.
