Kenya stands as Africa’s leading nation in Olympic medals, boasting a total of 113 medals across two major categories, Athletics and Boxing.

In Athletics, Kenya has secured 34 gold, 41 silver, and 31 bronze medals, summing up to 106 medals. In Boxing, the country has won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze medals, totaling 7.

Kenya’s dominance in Athletics is particularly notable in mid to long-distance events, with a significant increase in medal wins in recent Olympic Games. A brief summary of the medals won in various athletic events, including both men’s and women’s categories, is as follows:

800m: 6 gold, 3 silver, 7 bronze
