Kenya’s under-15 girls demonstrated their prowess in the dynamic start of the CAF African School Football Championships CECAFA qualifier games at Kasarani Stadium.

The Kenyan girls asserted their dominance in the tournament with a 2-0 victory against Rwanda, securing goals from Faith Boke and Brenda Achieng’.

Building on their success, the team secured another triumph in the subsequent match against Tanzania, clinching a 1-0 victory with a lone goal from Wambui Tabitha.

On the flip side, the Kenya U-15 boys faced an initial setback, losing 1-0 against Tanzania. However, they swiftly rebounded, redeeming themselves with a 2-0 victory against Somalia.

This tournament aims to nurture football talent among young players and features six teams from Kenya, Uganda, Somalia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Burundi.

The competition follows a round-robin format, with the schedule encompassing four matches for the girls’ teams and six matches for the boys’ team.

The CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA Qualifier is scheduled to continue until Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
