Kenya U20 Squad Ready to Take on Samoa in Opening Clash

Head Coach Curtis Aluoch has announced the match-day squad for Kenya U20’s first game against Samoa at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Anticipating a tough physical challenge from their opponents, Aluoch is confident in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion.

Under the leadership of captain Michael Wanjala, the Chipu team has been diligently preparing at their training camp in Kasarani. Wanjala expressed confidence in their defensive improvements and stated that they are ready to face the world.

Kenya finds itself in Pool B alongside Spain, Samoa, and Hong Kong. Star player Davis Spencer acknowledged the physicality of their opponents but emphasized their determination to match them and secure victories to advance to the next stage.

This is the second time Kenya is hosting the competition, having previously done so in 2009. The winners of the tournament will earn promotion to the World Rugby U20 Championship in 2024.
