The junior women’s rugby team continued their impressive campaign by defeating the hosts with an overwhelming score of 48-0 in their third match of Pool A at the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago Monday.

The scoring spree began as Margaret Wanjiru broke through just two minutes into the game, followed by Linda Kagwiria’s try in the fifth minute.

Janet Munde extended the lead further with another try, and at halftime, Kenya held a commanding 21-0 advantage.

The second half saw a similar story unfold, with the Kenyan team dominating against their hosts. Margaret Wanjiru secured her second try of the day, while substitute Sharon Iminza also added her name to the scoresheet.

However, Kenya’s surge didn’t stop there. Ann Namunyak joined the action with a remarkable hattrick of tries, contributing to another impressive victory for the young women at the youth games.

Earlier in the tournament, Kenya had experienced a 38-5 loss to Fiji but bounced back by defeating Wales 20-12 in their first two matches on Sunday.
