Angella Okutoyi, Kenya’s tennis sensation and African Games champion, is set to showcase her skills at the ITF W35 Bethany Beach Tournament in the United States.

This event is a crucial step for Okutoyi as she aims to qualify for her first Olympics in Paris later this year, with hopes to climb the ITF rankings.

In the opening round of the tournament, Okutoyi’s opponent remains unannounced. Should she advance, she may encounter either Ashton Bowers or Jamie Loeb of the United States.

Alongside her singles campaign, Okutoyi, the 2022 Wimbledon Open junior doubles winner, will join forces with Ukraine’s Anita Sahdiieva in the doubles category to face the American duo Jane Dunyon and Csilla Fodor.

Okutoyi’s previous outing at Boca Raton, Florida, ended in the quarterfinals where she was bested by Allie Kiick of the United States. With a current world ranking of 520, Okutoyi is on a mission to break into the top 400 by June 10, a necessary achievement to secure her spot at the prestigious Olympic Games.
