Kenya’s national men’s volleyball team, Wafalme, clinched a spot in the semi-finals of the African Games with a commanding 3-0 win over Burkina Faso.

The team showcased their dominance right from the start, securing a convincing 25-10 victory in the opening set. Despite a stronger showing from Burkina Faso in the second set, Wafalme maintained their lead with a 25-22 win, and sealed their semi-final berth with a 25-21 triumph in the final set.

The victory extends Wafalme’s impressive streak of not losing a single set in the tournament thus far. The day’s other quarterfinal matches saw defending champions Cameroon take on Chad, while 2019’s third-place team, Egypt, faced off against Gambia. Additionally, a West African derby unfolded as Nigeria competed against the host nation, Ghana.

Meanwhile, the women’s team, Malkia Strikers, is set to compete against Gambia in their quarterfinal match later in the evening.
