The Kiambu minnows swimming championship, exclusively designed for 9 and Under 5-7-year-old swimmers, is set to take place on June 10-11 at Crawford International School.

Eight schools, including Potterhouse School – Runda, Braeburn School, Juja St. Peter’s, Juja Preparatory and Senior School, Regis School Runda, Aga Khan Academy, and Woodcreek School, have confirmed participation in the two-day gala.

The first edition of the championships was held in March, hosted by Braeburn School, where over 500 swimmers participated.

Aga Khan Academy emerged victorious with a combined team score of 484.50 points, while Super Marlins Swim Club and Potterhouse School claimed second and third place with 405.50 and 313 points, respectively.

To prepare for the upcoming event, a delegation from the Kenya Swimming Federation, led by public relations officer Nesmus Mbati, met with the Crawford International School management and sports department.

The school administration expressed their commitment to nurture young swimmers in the region and has pledged to sponsor participation certificates for all participants as part of their motivation towards the sport.

The school will also provide logistical support and work closely with the federation to achieve their objectives.
