Kenya Volleyball Federation Joins Forces with Java House to Energize National Teams

In a significant development for Kenyan volleyball, the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has inked a pivotal partnership agreement with a local beverage company, Java House, providing a boost as the national teams gear up for the African Games and the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Charles Nyaberi, President of the Kenya National Volleyball Federation, expressed confidence in the potential impact of the partnership, emphasizing its role in facilitating the federation’s ongoing high-intensity training sessions in preparation for the upcoming tournaments.

The one-year partnership entails support from the beverage company for Malkia Strikers during their training sessions leading up to both the African Games and the Paris Olympics scheduled for August. Nyaberi highlighted the importance of this support, particularly in covering significant training costs such as food expenses for players.

This partnership marks a significant milestone for KVF, representing the first time the federation has secured a comprehensive partnership covering both indoor and beach volleyball teams.

This departure from past practices, which predominantly focused on the female side, Malkia, reflects a broader commitment to supporting all facets of the sport.

Paul Bitok, KVF Deputy President and former Malkia Strikers coach, lauded the partnership, citing a noticeable increase in motivation within the teams since the collaboration began.

He emphasized the positive impact on training sessions, allowing for longer and more intensive preparation to enhance performance ahead of the tournaments.

With the continental showpiece in Accra, Ghana, fast approaching, the country’s volleyball teams are set to depart on Thursday, March 7, buoyed by this newfound support and optimism for their prospects on the international stage.
