Bronny James, the 19-year-old son of basketball icon LeBron James, has been granted medical clearance to resume playing basketball after enduring a cardiac arrest during a training session with the University of Southern California (USC) team four months ago.

The incident occurred while James was practicing with his USC team, leading to the discovery of a congenital heart defect.

Following extensive medical care, the James family confirmed Bronny’s imminent return to the court. A final evaluation with USC staff is scheduled, with plans for him to resume practice next week and swiftly rejoin competitive games.

The James family expressed deep gratitude to the medical team, the USC community, and the vast network of friends, family, and fans who provided unwavering love and support during this challenging period.

Bronny James collapsed during a training session in July, leading to a three-day hospital stay. Further examinations in August revealed the congenital heart defect, a condition he has had since birth.

LeBron James, a four-time NBA champion and four-time Most Valuable Player, has previously voiced his desire to extend his career to play alongside his son in the NBA.

Bronny, the eldest of three siblings, including Bryce Maximus, 16, and Zhuri, nine, opted to commit to USC in May after an impressive high school basketball career at Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles.
