Ferrari Formula One driver Charles Leclerc has appealed to his fans to respect his privacy after repeatedly being approached by people gathering outside his apartment in Monaco.
The 25-year-old took to Instagram on Sunday to address the issue, stating that his home address has somehow become public, resulting in people ringing his doorbell and asking for pictures and autographs.
While Leclerc appreciates the support of his fans, he has asked them to refrain from coming to his house and to respect his privacy.
Leclerc’s plea comes after he had an exclusive Richard Mille watch stolen in Italy last April when he was approached for a selfie by two individuals wearing scooter helmets.
Italian police announced last week that they had arrested four individuals in connection with the theft of the watch, which was potentially worth millions and carried Leclerc’s initials.
Leclerc and Ferrari have also faced challenges on the Formula One circuit this season, with the driver retiring from two out of the first three races.
In contrast, last year Leclerc won two of the first three races before his title hopes faded.
Despite these challenges, Leclerc remains committed to his fans and has assured them that he will make time for them when spotted on the streets or at the track, but he asks that his home be respected as a boundary that should not be crossed.
