Formula One driver Charles Leclerc has affirmed his dedication to Ferrari by signing a contract extension with the Italian racing team. While the specific duration of Leclerc’s new contract was not disclosed, Ferrari mentioned that it extends “beyond the 2024 season,” superseding his current agreement.

In a statement, Ferrari conveyed that Leclerc, who concluded the previous season in fifth place, will remain with the team for the “coming seasons.” The 26-year-old Monegasque driver, part of the Ferrari F1 team since 2019, expressed his joy, emphasizing that racing for Ferrari has been his dream since childhood.

Leclerc, a former member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, joined Sauber in Formula One in 2018 before making the move to Ferrari a year later. During his tenure with Ferrari, he has secured five Grand Prix victories, achieved 30 podium finishes, and earned pole position 23 times.

Despite his impressive performances, Leclerc has faced challenges in contending for the Formula One World Championship, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen dominating the recent seasons. Leclerc’s closest attempt came in 2022, finishing as the runner-up behind Verstappen.

Looking ahead, Leclerc remains determined to pursue his dream of winning the world championship with Ferrari. The forthcoming Formula One season, commencing on March 2 in Bahrain, holds high expectations for the Ferrari team, which will unveil its 2024 car on February 13.

Meanwhile, Leclerc’s teammate, Carlos Sainz, awaits news on a potential contract extension, as his current agreement concludes at the end of the upcoming season.
