Lewis Hamilton Says F1 Hard To Trust With No Accountability In The Sport

Lewis Hamilton has criticized Formula 1 for lacking transparency and accountability amid ongoing controversies surrounding the sport.

The seven-time champion voiced concerns over the handling of issues involving the FIA and Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.

Speaking ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, Hamilton highlighted the need for transparency within the sport, particularly in decisions made by the FIA behind closed doors. He expressed disappointment over the lack of accountability, stating, “How can you trust the sport if you don’t have that?”

Hamilton commended F1 Academy director Susie Wolff for taking legal action against the FIA, following a controversial conflict of interest inquiry. He praised Wolff’s courage and emphasized the importance of her actions in promoting positive change, especially for women in the sport.

Regarding allegations against Horner, Hamilton criticized the handling of the situation, pointing out the male-dominated nature of Formula 1. He expressed concern over the narrative that filing complaints could lead to termination, emphasizing the need to uphold core values of inclusivity.

Carlos Sainz, recovering from appendicitis surgery, expressed confidence in his ability to participate in Friday practice, despite not being at full fitness. Sainz emphasized his readiness to race but acknowledged that he would prioritize his health if he felt unwell.
