Today marks a significant chapter in motorsport history as Lisa Christofferson, the founder of the Talanta Hela all-female rally team, embarks on a thrilling adventure in the WRC Safari Rally. Commanding the Subaru n10, bearing the number 110, she is set to carve a niche in this esteemed competition.

From the Service Park in Naivasha, Christofferson shared the origins of her vision, which sparked during the 2021 WRC Safari Rally. Struck by the absence of female participants, she pledged to establish Kenya’s inaugural all-women’s rally team, the Lionesses. Her resolve led to the formation of a team with eight drivers and navigators each, challenging gender norms in Kenya and beyond.

Christofferson’s story is one of extraordinary determination. Overcoming a stage 4 cancer diagnosis in 2006, she has emerged stronger and more committed than ever. Her resolve extends beyond the race track, as she dedicates herself to supporting children with cancer.

As the WRC Safari Rally commences, Christofferson and the Lionesses are not just competing; they’re also inspiring young women to boldly pursue their ambitions in a traditionally male-dominated arena.

They stand united, ready to make history and inspire, with the support of figures like Waziri Ababu Namwamba, who champions their cause. The Talanta Hela ladies are a symbol of national pride, and their journey is an invitation to witness a momentous event.
