Ferdinand Omanyala, hailed as Africa’s swiftest sprinter, is gearing up for a pivotal prelude to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

This weekend, he will take on some of the world’s elite runners at the Racer’s Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica. The event promises to be a memorable one, especially for Omanyala, who is eager to clinch his first victory of the season.

In a highly anticipated matchup, Omanyala will compete against American sprinter Noah Lyles, a two-time world champion in the 200 meters, who recently triumphed at the Bermuda Grand Prix with a remarkable time of 9.96 seconds.

The competition also features Zharnel Hughes of Great Britain, a world 100m bronze medalist, making his season debut in the 100 meters. Additionally, Jamaica’s rising star Oblique Seville, fresh from a 200m win at the Atlanta City Games, is set to showcase his talent, adding to the event’s excitement.
