Fresh off their 100-meter victories at the World Athletics Championships, Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson are set to compete in the same event at the upcoming Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Final, scheduled for September 16th at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Sha’Carri Richardson, who previously won the 100m at the US championships in Eugene back in July, continued her impressive run by securing the 100m world title.

Additionally, she claimed third place in the 200m event last month in Budapest and played a vital role in the US women’s 4×100 relay team’s gold medal victory.

Noah Lyles solidified his status as the world’s fastest man by clinching both the 100m and 200m world titles and contributing to the US men’s 4×100 relay team’s triumph.

Lyles is no stranger to the Diamond League Final, having been crowned champion in the 200m event in 2017, 2018, 2019, and most recently in 2022.

Now, he aims to secure his first title in the 100m category, having achieved a wind-legal personal best of 9.83 seconds this year, ranking him first in the world.
