Lysa FC from Laikipia County staged an impressive comeback to clinch their inaugural regional title in the Safaricom Chapa Dimba tournament boys’ category.

They secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over M-PESA Foundation Academy from Kiambu in a nail-biting match, despite initially trailing 1-0.

The game kicked off with M-PESA Foundation Academy taking an early lead as Wyclif Odira found the back of the net in the 16th minute. However, their advantage was short-lived as John Lokalia equalized for Lysa FC just four minutes later, resulting in a 1-1 scoreline at halftime.

In the second half, Lysa FC demonstrated their dominance, with Lokalia striking again in the 47th minute to put his team in the lead. Three minutes later, Peter Kamau extended their advantage with another goal, bringing the scoreline to 3-1.

Although Victor Kiptoo managed to pull one back for M-PESA Foundation Academy in the 70th minute, Lysa FC held on for a narrow 3-2 victory. Jydell Kariuki’s heroic save from Emmanuel Mangera’s penalty denied M-PESA Foundation Academy the opportunity to level the score.

With this remarkable win, Lysa FC secured their spot in the Safaricom Chapa Dimba National finals, pocketing KES. 250,000 and tickets to represent the Central region in the upcoming tournament slated for next month in Kisumu County.
