Formula 1 fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, scheduled to take place from July 21st to 23rd, 2023.
After Lewis Hamilton’s disappointment at his home ground during the British Grand Prix, Mercedes has focused on upgrading their car to improve performance and compete against rivals McLaren.
Mercedes has specifically worked on upgrading the front wing, which showed promising signs during the Silverstone race. James Allison, the Mercedes technical director, explained that the new front wing is designed to enhance speed and improve the balance and performance of the car, especially in slower-range corners.
Meanwhile, McLaren has also made significant changes to their cars, contributing to their impressive performance at Silverstone. Lando Norris’s outstanding drive, overtaking Hamilton to claim the second spot, left both fans and competitors in awe.
Hamilton even described McLaren as a “rocketship” due to its impressive speed. As Mercedes aims to outpace McLaren, they must also keep a close eye on their biggest competitor, Red Bull Racing led by Max Verstappen.
Currently, both McLaren and Red Bull Racing have achieved 11 consecutive wins, matching McLaren’s record from the 1988 season.
Adding to the excitement of the Hungarian GP is the return of Daniel Ricciardo, who has come out of retirement to join AlphaTauri.
All eyes will be on Ricciardo as he aims to make a strong comeback and boost AlphaTauri’s performance, especially after the team slipped to the bottom of the championship standings.
The Hungarian GP promises to be a thrilling race with Mercedes’ car upgrades, the intense competition between McLaren and Red Bull Racing, and the highly anticipated return of Daniel Ricciardo.
