Mombasa Elite’s challenging season in the National Super League continued as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Mara Sugar, marking their 15th loss.
The match, which unfolded at the Mombasa Elite’s home ground, saw Mara Sugar secure both goals within a ten-minute window during the second half, courtesy of Erick Juma and Joseph Okwenda.
The game’s first notable action came from Mara Sugar’s Brian Ochieng, whose early header was deflected to safety by Mombasa Elite’s goalkeeper Richard Ebenyo. Elite’s significant chance arrived 20 minutes in when Emmanuel Lunalo, their leading scorer, had his shot saved by Mara Sugar’s Felix Odoyo.
