Napoli clinched their first Serie A title in 33 years after securing a 1-1 draw against Udinese, with Victor Osimhen’s second-half goal securing the necessary point.

The result sealed the Scudetto with five games still remaining, and their lead over Lazio now standing at 16 points. Despite conceding an early goal, Napoli showed resilience and Osimhen calmly slotted home the equalizer to ignite celebrations among the thousands of travelling Napoli supporters.

This historic triumph is the first time a club outside of Milan and Turin has won the league since Roma in 2001.

The celebrations in Naples were massive, with more than 50,000 supporters congregating at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium to watch the match on big screens.

The city was alive with fireworks lighting up the sky and supporters singing and dancing in the streets. Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis expressed his joy and said the title was the coronation of a dream that has been going on for 33 years.

Napoli’s journey to the title has been remarkable, as the club was declared bankrupt in 2004 and restarted in the third division under De Laurentiis’ ownership.

The Scudetto is the culmination of a long process, and the victory has brought immense joy to the club and its supporters.

While the celebrations are expected to continue for days, the US consulate has issued a security alert, warning of heavy traffic, road closures, and alcohol consumption throughout the city. Nevertheless, this historic triumph will be celebrated for years to come by the Neapolitan faithful.
