The NBA has unveiled a host of new programming and enhancements set to revolutionize the NBA App for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

With over a billion video views generated this past season, the NBA App is gearing up to provide fans with advanced personalization features, enriched live game viewing options, and expanded content offerings.

One exciting feature is the addition of multiple team and player tabs on the app’s main screen, granting fans seamless access to real-time content for their favourite teams and players. These tabs will provide the latest news, trending topics, vertical video highlights, and player updates.

A novel “Moments” experience will also be introduced, allowing fans to scroll through a never-ending supply of NBA content through a user-friendly, vertical, social media-style interface.

NBA ID members are in for a treat this season as they can earn new badges by engaging with live games and programming on the NBA App and NBA League Pass. This includes participating in the NBA All-Star vote, daily trivia, and more, with the chance to win exclusive prizes, including regular season tickets.

To keep fans well-informed about the latest happenings in the league, the NBA will distribute a new daily newsletter called “Starting 5.” This newsletter will feature contributions from current and former NBA players, coaches, and analytics experts, including notable figures such as Jayson Tatum and Rick Carlisle.

Moreover, NBA Entertainment will offer a plethora of original content on the NBA App, including the behind-the-scenes series “Bring it Home,” narrated by Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, and the return of “Pass the Rock,” a show focusing on emerging stars of the league.

In total, the NBA App will provide fans with over 10,000 additional hours of programming throughout the 2023-24 season. Highlights include the return of “NBA CrunchTime,” offering more than 50 episodes, twice the number of last season, and the introduction of “Race for the NBA Cup,” documenting the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament.

NBA League Pass subscribers are in for an enhanced live game streaming experience, allowing them to easily switch between multiple broadcast and language options while enjoying dynamic overlays featuring live player stats, scores, betting odds, and other content. Multiple game streaming with multi-view is also back for League Pass subscribers.

Students in accredited U.S. universities and colleges can now purchase NBA League Pass at a special discounted rate, making premium NBA content more accessible.

To top it off, cross-platform Watch Parties will be introduced later in the season, enabling video chats with up to four participants while watching synchronized video broadcasts on Apple and Android devices.

These exciting updates are part of the NBA’s commitment to delivering an extraordinary fan experience, as highlighted in their tip-off campaign spots, “So Much Game” and “Everyone’s NBA App.”

The NBA App, a collaboration between the NBA and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, powered by Microsoft Azure, can be downloaded for free.
