Klay Thompson’s stunning performance ensured that the Golden State Warriors took Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinals series against the Los Angeles Lakers with a resounding 127-100 victory on Thursday night.

Thompson’s 30 points, including eight 3-pointers, led the charge, and marked his sixth career playoff game with at least eight 3-pointers, setting an NBA record.

The Lakers had a solid start, taking a 7-point lead in the first quarter and hitting five 3-pointers. However, Golden State responded with a 14-4 run to open the second quarter and outscored the Lakers by 18 points in the period.

Thompson’s five 3-pointers helped the Warriors to a commanding 30-point lead by the end of the third quarter.

The Lakers struggled to mount a comeback, with Anthony Davis limited to just four points in the first half and 11 points overall.

Steph Curry added 20 points and 12 assists for the Warriors, who made 21 3-pointers as a team and shot 50% from behind the arc.

The victory evened the series at 1-1, and Game 3 is set for Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. If the Warriors can maintain their momentum and shut down Davis once again, they will be in a strong position to reach their seventh Western Conference finals series in nine years.
