NCBA Nyali Open to Conclude 2024 Kenya Amateur Golf Championship Series

The prestigious Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa will host the grand finale of the 2024 NCBA Kenya Amateur Golf Championship series from December 13 to 15.

The highly anticipated NCBA Nyali Open promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the season, drawing elite golfers from East and Central Africa.

Initially set for 126 players, the event will now feature 96 top-tier golfers from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, reflecting its rising prominence in the regional golfing calendar. Participants will compete in a 54-hole stroke play championship over three days. All players will contest the first two rounds, with the top 33 and ties advancing to the final round on Sunday.

The event boasts a prize fund of Ksh 519,000, with the overall champion taking home Ksh 120,000. In addition to crowning the 2024 NCBA Kenya Amateur Golf Champion, the tournament will also present the Club of the Year and Lowest Gross Winner trophies to recognize exceptional performances throughout the season.

The NCBA Kenya Amateur Golf Championship series, supported by NCBA Group, has played a pivotal role in fostering golf excellence in Kenya and the region. Through sustained sponsorship, NCBA has created a platform for aspiring golfers to compete, develop their skills, and raise the competitive standard of the game.

This season’s highlights include remarkable victories by emerging stars such as:

Michael Alunga (Uganda): Winner of the Kenya Amateur Match Play Championship.

William Odek (Nyali Golf Club): Champion of the NCBA Kenya Amateur Stroke Play Championship.

Josephat Rono (Golf Park): Winner of the NCBA Golf Park Open.

Felix Dusabe (Rwanda): Champion of the NCBA Mt. Kenya Championship.

Titus Okwong (Uganda): Winner of the NCBA Tea Fields Trophy.

Their impressive performances underscore NCBA’s commitment to nurturing talent and shaping the future of golf in the region.

Kenya Golf Union Chairman David Ndung’u applauded NCBA’s crucial role in advancing the sport. “NCBA’s dedication to supporting and nurturing golfing talent has allowed players to showcase their skills.
