In an inspiring turn of events, Ferdinand Omanyala, renowned as Africa’s swiftest sprinter, has his ambitions firmly set on the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Omanyala’s resolve is unshaken despite not securing a spot in the finals during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

At a recent event where he was honored as the new face of Toyota CFAO Motors Kenya, Omanyala shared his aspirations to chase down a groundbreaking achievement for Kenya; its first medal in the 100-meter sprint. “The path to this year’s Olympics is markedly different from the one to Tokyo. Back then, I was racing against time to qualify. Now, I’m racing towards victory in Paris with a much stronger foundation,” he confidently stated.

Omanyala’s recent triumph at the Meeting de Paris Indoor, where he sprinted to victory with a time of 6.51 seconds, not only earned him a title but also broke his own national record set just a week prior in France. This feat is a testament to his escalating form as he approaches the Olympic season.

“The unwavering support from our partners has been instrumental in priming Team Kenya for the global stage, including the World Rally Championships and the Olympics,” Omanyala acknowledged.

With a clear vision for the season, he added, “My focus is to amplify the successes of previous seasons and translate them into an outstanding performance this year.”

As Kenya prepares for the Paris Olympics, Omanyala stands as a beacon of hope, ready to sprint his way into the annals of history by securing the nation’s inaugural sprint medal.
