Naomi Osaka intends to resume her competitive schedule promptly after an early exit from the Australian Open on Monday.

The former world number one, who recently returned to professional tennis after a 15-month break and the birth of her first child in July, revealed plans for an extensive tournament calendar.

Osaka, 26, aims to participate in upcoming events in Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, and Charleston. Conversations with her coach, Wim Fissette, have also revolved around the prospect of engaging in a complete clay season.

After falling 6-4, 7-6(2) to Caroline Garcia in her Australian Open opener, the four-time Grand Slam champion acknowledged the need for more match play. Osaka acknowledged a bit of rustiness, considering it was only her third match of the season. Prior to the Grand Slam, she had returned to competitive play in Brisbane, where she faced challenges, including a three-set loss to Karolina Pliskova.

Reflecting on her recent weeks in Australia, Osaka expressed gratitude for the experiences and memories created with her team. She emphasized that despite the challenges, there are no regrets, and she sees it as a learning opportunity, both on and off the court. Osaka noted the quality of opponents she faced and expressed a wish for more opportunities to compete without immediate elimination.

Looking ahead, Osaka remains optimistic and recognizes the ongoing learning process in her return to professional tennis. Her focus is on how the rest of the season unfolds, leaving room for adjustments and a proactive approach to her schedule.
