French Ligue 1 club Marseille has made a significant signing, bringing in Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a three-year contract.

The 34-year-old Gabon international expressed his excitement in a short video released by the club on social media, saying, “Come on OM… See you in Marseille.”

Aubameyang’s stint at Chelsea was less fruitful than anticipated, as he scored only three goals in 22 appearances. The striker had reunited with his former manager Thomas Tuchel in a £10.3 million (12 million euros) deal from Barcelona in September of the previous year.

During his earlier collaboration with Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund, Aubameyang had been a prolific goal-scorer, netting 79 goals in 95 appearances.

This success led him to Arsenal in 2018, where he finished as the joint top-scorer in the Premier League a year later. However, his time at Arsenal was marred by the loss of the captaincy under Mikel Arteta, followed by a transfer to Barcelona.

Aubameyang managed 13 goals in 23 matches during his brief tenure at Barcelona but struggled to replicate that form during his season at Stamford Bridge.

By joining Marseille, Aubameyang returns to French football, where he previously showcased his talents at Lille, Monaco, and Saint-Etienne. His most notable performances were during his time at the German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, where he left a lasting impact from 2013 to 2018.

Having played for top clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea, Aubameyang brings a wealth of experience and skill to Marseille, making him a significant addition to their squad.

Fans eagerly anticipate witnessing his performances on the Ligue 1 stage once again as he embarks on this new chapter of his football journey
