Raila Odinga to Attend Shabana FC vs Kibera Black Stars Super League Match

Posted on

Opposition leader Raila Odinga is set to join the esteemed list of dignitaries attending the Super League match between Shabana FC and Kibera Black Stars at Gusii Stadium on Saturday.

Shabana, a team vying for promotion, currently leads the second-tier league standings with 57 points, holding a two-point advantage over second-placed Murang’a Seal, who have accumulated 55 points.

Raila Odinga will be accompanied by Kisii County Governor Simba Arati, as they lend their support to the teams on the field.

Governor Arati, serving his first term in Kisii County, will be present alongside Raila Odinga.

This is not the first time Raila Odinga has shown his passion for football. Just two weeks ago, he and President William Ruto attended the Mashemeji Derby between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium.

Additionally, on May 13, Raila Odinga graced the Kipkeino Classic at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani.

In a generous gesture, Raila Odinga has promised to cover Shabana’s match expenses and compensate the team for the projected income they would have earned from ticket sales. As a result, entry into Gusii Stadium for this match will be free for spectators.

The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 2 pm, promising an exciting showdown between the two teams.
