Reigning World Rally Champion Rovanpera and the Current WRC Leader Ogier Confirm Entries for Kenya’s Safari Rally

Top international drivers, including reigning World Rally champion Kalle Rovanpera, and the current WSR leader Sebastien Ogierhave confirmed their entry for upcoming Kenya’s Safari Rally next month.

The event, which runs from June 23 to 26, is the seventh round of the 2023 World Rally Championship (WRC). Rovanpera and his navigator Jonne Halitunen are among the first to confirm their participation, along with other notable drivers such as France’s Sebastien Ogier, Briton Elfyn Evans, and Japan’s Takamoto Katsuta.

Toyota, which has already won three out of the four 2023 WRC rallies this year, will be competing with a strong team.

The rally will also feature drivers in the R2 category, such as Czech WRC and rally raid ace driver Martin Prokop, who will be driving a Ford Fiesta MK1 R2, and local driver Minesh Rathod, who will be competing in the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC).

The Safari Rally will start in Nairobi’s Uhuru Park and will continue in the resort town of Naivasha.
