In preparation for the crucial first leg of the third round FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Yaounde on November 11, Rising Starlets coach Beldine Odemba has unveiled a 23-member squad.
The coach emphasized that there are no injuries within the camp. Although eight players are currently sitting for their KCSE exams, their replacements have seamlessly filled in, ensuring the team’s strength and competitiveness remain undiminished.
During the second round, the Rising Starlets achieved an impressive 10-1 aggregate victory over Angola. Setting their sights on the fourth round, the team is resolute in overcoming their Cameroonian opponents.
A triumph in the third round would propel them into a clash against the winner of the Congo-Egypt match. A victory in the fourth round would secure the Rising Starlets a coveted spot in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be held in Colombia.
The critical encounter’s first leg is set to commence at 7 pm EAT on Saturday at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.
