Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned Portuguese footballer, has once again made history by breaking the record for the most international appearances by a player with 197 caps.

In a Euro 2024 qualifying match against Liechtenstein at Estadio Jose Alvalade stadium, Ronaldo scored two goals, bringing his total number of international goals to 120. Portugal won the game 4-0, with Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo also contributing to the scoreline.

Ronaldo, who currently plays for Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr, is also the top scorer in men’s international football with 120 goals.

Iranian footballer Ali Daei, with 109 goals, and Argentina’s Lionel Messi, with 76 goals, follow closely behind.

Last year, Ronaldo became the first player to score in five World Cup editions after scoring against Ghana in Portugal’s campaign opener.

Portugal is grouped with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Slovakia in Group J of the Euro qualifiers. Their next match will be against Luxembourg on March 27.

The list of top 10 players with the most international caps includes Ronaldo, Baer Al-Mutawa from Kuwait with 196 caps, and Soh Chin Ann from Malaysia with 195 caps. Ahmed Hassan from Egypt, Ahmed Mubarak from Oman, Sergio Ramos from Spain, Andres Guardado from Mexico, Mohamed Al-Deayea from Saudi Arabia, Claudio Sanchez from Mexico, and Gianluigi Buffon from Italy complete the list.
