The 2024 NCBA Golf Series will make its fourth stop at Ruiru Sports Club this Saturday, continuing a calendar that kicked off in early March this year.
With over 200 golfers expected to participate, the par-72 course will witness the first tee-offs as early as 7:00 am. Competitors will be aiming to secure coveted slots at the Series Grand Finale scheduled later this year at the Muthaiga Golf Club.
James Muraguri, the captain of Ruiru Sports Club, expressed enthusiasm about hosting the NCBA Golf Series once more. “We are thrilled to host the NCBA Golf Series once again at Ruiru Golf Club. The course is in impeccable condition, and we’re looking forward to witnessing some exceptional golfing talent on display. Our club members and the local community are excited to be a part of this prestigious event,” said Muraguri.
NCBA Group Managing Director also shared his excitement about returning to Ruiru for the second time since the series’ inception in 2021.
“We are thrilled to return to Ruiru for the second time since the inception of this series in 2021. Witnessing the remarkable growth of the tournament, with an ever-increasing participation, is a source of pride for all of us at NCBA. Ruiru presents a challenging course, and we eagerly anticipate the test it will provide this weekend. Our goal is to ensure a rewarding experience for our stakeholders in Ruiru, as we have consistently delivered in our past events.”
The Ruiru leg follows the third leg of the series held on April 6 at the Eldoret Sports Club. In that event, James Chirchir claimed victory in the Division One category with a round of 41 points, while Miriam Wanjiku emerged victorious in the Ladies category with a final score of 36 points.
Cheptoo Johana and Satwinder Sagoo claimed victory in Division 2’s Men’s and Ladies’ categories respectively, while Anita Cherop and junior golfer Ryan Tolgos showcased their skills in Division 3 and the junior category respectively.
