Saka stars  as Arsenal Thrash  Crystal Palace  to Move Eight Points Clear in PL

Gunners Bukayo Saka’s brace helped Arsenal extend their lead to eight points at the top of the Premier League with a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring in the first half, which was followed by Saka’s two goals and Granit Xhaka’s goal after the break.

Although Jeff Schlupp scored for the visitors, it was too little, too late, as Saka’s second goal sealed Arsenal’s victory.

The Gunners now have a substantial lead over second-placed Manchester City, who did not play in the Premier League this weekend due to their involvement in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Arsenal, who have a game in hand, have taken control of the title race with just 10 games remaining.

Arsenal responded impressively after their Europa League defeat to Sporting Lisbon, which saw them lose on penalties, as they dominated a struggling Palace side, who have not won in 13 games.

Arteta’s side showed maturity and composure, which has been a significant improvement from their underachieving teams in recent years. Arsenal has won nine London derbies in a single season, which is an English record.

The win was particularly important for Arteta, who described it as the most crucial match of his managerial career.

Arsenal’s run-in is now a series of “11 finals,” and Arteta made six changes to his starting lineup for the game.

Despite the substantial lead, Arsenal cannot rest on their laurels, as Manchester City still has a game in hand and a crucial clash with the Gunners looms on April 26.

However, Arsenal has transformed into a title contender, and Arteta deserves immense credit for their impressive season. The Gunners’ fate in the title race is now in their hands, and they head into the international break with confidence.
