Salah, Mane square off in the AFCON final

The Africa Cup of Nations is set to conclude tonight as the Teranga Lions of Senegal will take on seven-times champions Egypt after qualifying for the final with a dominant 3-1 over Burkina Faso.
Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah will square it in the final of one of the most memorable Africa Cup of Nations which will be held in the Olembe stadium in Yaounde, Cameroon.
The stadium was cleared for matches after the Cameroon government assurred CAF that safety measures would be tightened up to prevent the string of events which left eight people dead and 38 injured before Cameroon’s last -16 tie against Comoro’s on 24 January 2022.
The two of the English Premier League’s biggest stars have so far had prolific performance since the knockout stages leading their national teams to the final. Senegal Mane and Egypt Salah will no doubt be the center of attention during the final however they are just two of atleast seven EPL players in both teams.
Hosts Cameroon were defeated by the Pharaoh’s in a close encounter that needed to be settled by a penalty shoot out on Thursday night. Senegal lions are chasing their first ever Nations cup triumph having lost on both their previous appearanceus in the final.
On loan Tottenham youngest Pape Mar Saee and Watford forward Ismaila, Chelsea’s Edouard Mindy and Crystal Palace’s Cheikou Kouyat are amongst the Senegalese squard looking to forward to be crowned this year’s champions. Also Arsenal’s Mohamed Elnery is hopeful to win a first Africa Cup of Nations of his own having finished as a runner-up with Eqypt in 2017.
Hosts Cameroon secured third place after an incredible comeback against Burkina Faso.
