School Games: Champions Laiser Hill Stun Dagoretti To Storm Basketball Semis

Laiser Hill High School’s basketball team advanced to the Term One Games semi-finals with a decisive 61-35 victory over Dagoretti High School.

The champions set an aggressive tone with a 16-4 lead in the first quarter, despite Dagoretti’s brief comeback in the second quarter. Laiser Hill sealed the win with an 18-0 final quarter.

Coach Eric Mutoro praised his team’s defensive performance and is determined to retain their title. Dagoretti now faces Lukenya School for a semi-final berth, while Laiser Hill will play Sabunley Boys High School.

In other matches, Agoro Sare made it to the semi-finals by defeating Dr. Aggrey 54-53. Buruburu Girls overcame Butere Girls 33-27, and Kaya Tiwi secured a semi-final spot with an 82-26 win over Ikutha Girls.

In handball, Hospital Hill High School beat Handege Boys 33-12 to reach the semi-finals. They will next face St. Luke’s Kimilili Boys. Mbooni Boys also advanced with a 31-20 win over Mwangea.

For the girls, Moi Girls Kamusinga defeated Moi Forces 27-14, setting up a group-deciding match against Kwathanze. Murundiko Girls and Ulanda Girls completed the semi-final lineup with their respective wins. Ulanda will face Murundiko to determine the group B winner.
